Privacy Policy

Treato ("we", "our", "us") is a pet care tracking app. We care about your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Data We Collect

Data stored on your device only:

• Pet profiles (name, species, breed, date of birth, weight)
• Care logs (feeding, walking, medication, vet visits)
• Photos you add to your pet's timeline
• Reminders and notification preferences
• App settings and customization choices

This data is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework. It never leaves your device unless you create an account to sync.

Data collected when you create an account:

• Email address (for authentication)
• Display name (optional, shown in your profile)
• Password (encrypted, we never see it in plain text)

Account data is managed by Google Firebase Authentication. You can read Firebase's privacy policy for details on how they handle authentication data.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

• We do not collect analytics or usage data
• We do not use advertising SDKs or ad trackers
• We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency because we don't track you
• We do not collect device identifiers for advertising
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties

3. Subscriptions

Treato Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. Apple handles all payment processing. See Apple's privacy policy for details.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Pet data is stored locally on your device
• Account authentication is handled by Firebase Auth with industry-standard encryption
• We use HTTPS for all network communications
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text

5. Your Rights

You can:

• Delete your account: Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and all synced data from our servers.
• Delete your local data: Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
• Export your data: Use the Export feature in Settings to download your care data as PDF or CSV.

6. Children's Privacy

Treato is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

7. International Users (GDPR/UK GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the following applies:

• Data controller: Treato Pet Care (ankitships@gmail.com)
• Legal basis: We process your email and display name based on your consent when creating an account, and legitimate interest for maintaining app functionality
• Data retention: Account data is retained until you delete your account. Local device data is retained until you uninstall the app
• Your rights: You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data. You also have the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
• Data transfers: Account authentication data is processed by Google Firebase, which may transfer data outside the EEA under Standard Contractual Clauses

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
